GSR Orientation & Mentorship
New to Area Service?
GSR Orientation & Mentorship is here to support Group Service Representatives, Alternate GSRs, new groups, and any NA member who wants to better understand how Suncoast Area Service works.
Whether this is your first Area meeting or you’ve been serving for a while and still have questions, you are welcome here. We can help you understand what happens at Area, how groups participate, where to find resources, and how to get connected in service.
What is a GSR?
A Group Service Representative, or GSR, is the connection between a home group and the Area Service Committee. The GSR brings information from their group to Area and carries Area information back to their group.
This helps each group stay informed, participate in decisions, and be part of carrying the NA message throughout the Suncoast Area. Information about the next GSR Orientation is listed below.
Mentorship
You don’t have to learn service alone.
Service can feel confusing at first. There are new terms, reports, procedures, and responsibilities. Mentorship gives newer trusted servants a chance to ask questions and learn from members who have experience in Area Service.
The goal is not to tell a GSR what to do, but to help them feel informed and supported as they serve their group.
New Groups
Starting a new NA group in the Suncoast Area?
GSR Orientation & Mentorship can help your group get connected, learn how to participate in Area, and find the resources you need to get started.
New groups are encouraged to send a GSR or group representative to Area Service.
